Hello Garden Park Families,
     We are excited to announce that we have the opportunity this year to offer ChromeBook checkout to every student for home use.  This will allow students to have access to a device for doing school work at home. All students have access to free academic intervention opportunities through IXL reading and IXL math, as well as Imagine Learning access to practice language skills for our students who are early English Learners.
     If you are interested in checking out a ChromeBook for home use, please see Mr. Gary, our Technology Support Specialist, in the MPR at back to school night to check out your ChromeBook. This is for home use only - your child will continue to have a classroom ChromeBook for daily use at school.
     No students are required to check out a Chromebook for home usage, but weather you do or not, we highly encourage everyone to take advantage of the free digital intervention programs mentioned above that are available to your child on any device - you just need their login information, which can be obtained from your child's teacher at Back to School Night.
     Parents will be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing damaged or lost Chromebooks/chargers.  Please be aware that these are for student learning use only. The district will be able to see what is done on these devices, and may shut them down when used inappropriately.  Teachers and GGUSD will be able to see logs of hours spent on intervention programs, and contests/rewards are often in place for those with the highest usage.
